Our Three Special Education Schools Are NEASC Accredited!
Thu Feb 27 2025

We’re thrilled to announce that all three of our year-round special education schools have earned accreditation through the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)! Doctor Franklin Perkins School (Lancaster) received its ten-year re-accreditation, while Don Watson Academy (Lancaster) and RFK Academy (Springfield) earned their initial accreditation.
NEASC’s high standards ensure that families can trust RFK Community Alliance schools to provide top-notch, therapeutic education that supports students’ social, emotional, academic, and behavioral needs. Of the 13 special education schools listed on NEASC’s website, we’re proud that 3 are ours!
Dawn Bentley, Ed.D., Vice President of Education at RFK Community Alliance, shared, “I’m honored that NEASC recognizes the excellence in our schools. Our team works tirelessly to provide personalized, high-quality education for our students, who face complex challenges."
NEASC’s re-accreditation report for Doctor Franklin Perkins School praised the school community’s commitment to student well-being and recognized the staff’s dedication to creating a supportive environment. For Don Watson Academy, NEASC commended the school’s focus on teamwork and individualized student approaches. RFK Academy’s report highlighted the team’s effective, student-centered environment that encourages growth and safety.
We’re proud of our incredible staff and students, and this accreditation reflects the hard work and dedication that make our schools truly exceptional!
